There are 1000's of books on IIT JEE. You will often get confused about what to study and what now! Not only that, given the cost of a single copy of these books, it becomes even more difficult to get all these books. Of course, you could argue that buying all the books wont be a problem at all, but there are a lot of bad books which you should avoid at all cost!
Our Simple selection of books is this: * We think and strongly believe that this is a complete list and you dont need to go beyond this one! We dont want to overwhelm you with 1000 different books. We think that this list is comprehensive and sufficient!
Mathematics: Compulsory: NCERT (Not sufficient!) Optional: (Depending on which one you like!) One or two of - RS Aggrawal, TataMcGrawHills, A Dasgupta (Bharti Bhawan), K C Sinha, Correspondence course of VidyaMandir, Delhi)
Physics: Compulsory: NCERT (Not sufficient!) Optional: H C Verma Could be: Pradeep's
Chemistry: Compulsory: NCERT (Sufficient for Inorganic!) Optional: Any Coaching Material (RSM of Fiitjee, Vidyamandir Correspondence, Resonance Correspondence)
With Chemistry, the issue is that you wont get good books that cover all topics. Even for say Organic or Physical, you will not find a suitable text which is exactly what is needed for IIT-JEE or even CBSE preparations! So, we strongly recommend correspondence course of one of these Institutes.
i like arihant.... all books... the new pattern iit books from arihant is nice. but the new pattern maths is superb ... i find difficult to cope up with tmh... only formulas r there, the required theory is missing.. chemistry i read the comprehensive chemistry the best book i ve ever found ... well i take vmc correspondence... initially i didnt had a strong base..so i found the materials a bit difficult... now i 'm in 12. & will be appearing for iit this yr. wud u suggest which topics i should focus more in pcm nd how to use the last few days effectively....
i believe narayana is the best material available for chemistry
maths ...every book is good provided u solve it completely...books like rds ml khanna kc sinha become quite boring after some time...adg is the only book which keeps the interest alive!
nishant bhaiya 'm doing m.l.khanna for mathsss............................wht abt this bukk..............hcv for physics ...................nd dinesh obj.+NCERT for chem........................in 12th i''ll take some packages of fiitjee for chemistry from ma frndss...........................help me m i going right....................

If you really want to master Mathematics for IIT JEE :
Try A Dasgupta ( Subjective )
There is nothing better than that , so try it only if you can solve all others .
There is no shortage of good books but it is not necessary that every book suits you compeletely so it is wise to try the book first from the library and then go on for buying it if it suits you.
But here are a few books that you cant afford to miss :
I personally think tmh is not really the kind of book for JEE, bcos its whole model is based on reading a question reading its solution and learning the "method", and anybody who says that he solves the question and does not look at the solution (which is given right below) is lying..believe me. Im a big fan of A Dasgupta, but thats only once ur in the 12th..its not a book to start with. and also the typical ML khanna book has its advantages if used rightly.. its like a big pool of questions.. dont solve all.. plus the solution is given behind the chapter and not just below it.
tmh math is a really gud book try to solve it will guv sum confidence plus it has sum gud triks in it found kc sinha gud too fiitjee corespondence material for maths was easy
